Cab firm expands

A TYNEDALE taxi firm is strengthening its ‘green’ credentials.
Hexham-based EcoCabs is investing over £100,000 to add to its bio diesel fleet over the next six months.
A substantial amount of the money will go on the newly released Skoda Octavia Green Line vehicles.
Skoda’s Green Line produce lower emissions, and thus reduce its carbon footprint.
With lower suspension and low rolling resistance tyres, it only emits 114 grams per kilometre of carbon.
Coupled with the fact that EcoCab’s runs its vehicles on locally produced bio diesel, the Skoda works wonders for the global aim of reducing carbon footprint.
With the first Green Line already in operation, EcoCabs will be adding a further four over the spring.
Owner Matthew Kirkby said: “ We are very excited about 2010.
“After budgeting last year we are now ready to invest in vehicles to make us even more fuel efficient, improve on our current fleets, and purchase the latest new green technologies.”
