IN its fortieth year of trading, a well-known women’s fashion boutique in Corbridge, has opened a new showroom.

In partnership Partners David and Noreen Crompton and Lynn Clark are opening a new occasion wear showroom (see below) at Norma James, in Corbridge.

Norma James on Middle Street, has long been a byword for beautiful clothes. Now, business partners David and Noreen Crompton, and Lynn Clark, are expanding the business to provide occasion wear fashions.

The trio, who bought the boutique in 2008, will officially open the showroom on Saturday.

David said: “Norma James has a rich history in fashion and was always traditionally run as an occasion wear business.

“Although we now offer new lines in outdoor wear, day wear and luxury wear, the demand for outfits for occasions is as great as ever.

“We decided to use the shop’s upstairs space, which was previously a stock room, and transform it into a dedicated showroom where customers can spend time away from the main shop floor to find the outfit for their big day.

“Whether that is for a day at the races, or an outfit for the mother of the bride, we now offer a variety of fashions and accessories.”

The new showroom will stock lines from the likes of Condici, Ispirato, Marc Cain and Joseph Ribkoff, and staff will be available to advise on colour and style.

David added: “Customers continue to travel from all over the area to shop at Norma James and we believe the new showroom, which will allow choosing an outfit for a special occasion to become a real social event, will prove a great addition.”

To mark four decades of fashion, the partners also plan to host an anniversary event in June.
