Bob collects Hexham allotment award

KEEN gardener Bob Potter is the prince of the plots after picking up a prestigious award for his pristine allotment.

The lovely vegetables he produces from his allotment at Wydon Park earned him a highly commended award in Hexham Town Council’s annual gardening awards.
And there was special applause when he collected his certificate at the town council’s January meeting – for Bob is blind.
He goes gardening accompanied by his guide dog Clyde, and carries out a lot of his planting totally by touch.
