THE A68 road between Riding Mill and Kiln Pit Hill was closed briefly on Monday morning because of flooding.
Emergency services were at the scene to remove standing water and by 9am the road was reopened. Police advised motorists in the area to reduce their speed and drive with care.
Tynedale was bracing itself for more problems, with forecasts of heavy rain throughout Monday, following downpours over the weekend.
There was standing water on the A695 between Riding Mill and Hexham, although the road was still passable on Monday morning.
As yet, the Environment Agency has not place flood alerts or warnings on any of the district's rivers.
