Northern Trust Company Ltd has announced the successful tenancy of OpenWorks Engineering Ltd at their Regents Drive estate in Prudhoe.

OpenWorks, an engineering company, has committed to a 10-year lease agreement for an 11,500 sq ft unit on the estate.

The company, established in 2015, provides innovative counter-drone systems, and its products are already utilised by leading global defence authorities.

The company's SkyWall Net Capture systems uniquely offer a low-collateral damage solution for physically halting unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).

Chris Down, the managing director of OpenWorks, said: "Our move to Regents Drive has proved to be a fantastic opportunity for OpenWorks on numerous levels.

"We have been able to consolidate our business in one, state-of-the-art site, which in turn has enabled business output to increase as well as undertaking an impressive recruitment drive."

The estate, located adjacent to the A695 Blaydon to Hexham Road, provides excellent transport links.

With the addition of OpenWorks Engineering, Regents Drive, comprising 77,811 sq ft in seven units, is now fully occupied.

Barry Nelson, regional property director at Northern Trust, said: "I am delighted we have been able to facilitate OpenWorks Engineering’s occupational requirements, by providing the space they were looking for to allow for future expansion.

"I am pleased to welcome them and their team to Regents Drive and look forward to watching their continued growth."

Northern Trust maintains additional business space at the Low Prudhoe Industrial Estate, suitable for businesses seeking relocation opportunities.
