Two Lake District outposts of Cornish Bakery temporarily shut up shop for refurbishment.

After an extensive remodelling, the Bowness-on-Windermere location officially reopened its doors on May 3, with the make-over of the Keswick bakery set to wrap up on May 10.

The Bowness site, nestled in the heart of Royal Square, has been home to the bakery for more than a decade.

Last year, the company repainted the exterior of the property in forest green tones to keep in line with the natural surroundings.

The Keswick bakery, located on Main Street and a Cornish Bakery location for more than seven years, also received a fresh coat of paint last year - a vibrant ‘Middle Bluff’ deep bronze.

In addition to the new colour schemes, the renovated bakeries will embrace the company's Cornish roots by showcasing the talents and products of Cornish artists and craftsmen.

Expect the shops to be adorned with lights from Cornwall-based Studio Haran and paintings and illustrations from South West-based artists Sophie Harding and William Luz.

Cornish Bakery founder and owner, Steve Grocutt, said: "Over time, our brand, and therefore the internal and external styling of our bakeries, have changed significantly.

"Our product range has evolved into a more fulsome bakery experience and coffee has become our best seller.

"We absolutely love our Lake District locations which are all strong performers within our ever-growing family of bakeries.

“I am confident that these updated bakeries will be the premium space and experience for both residents in, and visitors to, the beautiful lakeside towns of Keswick and Bowness-on-Windermere.

"Bakery is the new coffee shop, and we are at the forefront of this. We’re looking forward to welcoming customers, new and old, into our revamped Lake District bakeries.”

Providing a breakfast, lunch, or afternoon pit-stop, both bakeries will operate every day of the week from 8am to 5pm after reopening.
