Woodside, near Hexham, is an award-winning luxury five-star cottage with "far-reaching views over pastureland towards Slaley Forest and the North Pennines", according to a property overview.

Outside the cottage, there is a seating area where guests can "enjoy the tranquil views over farmland, and watch the birdlife - in spring the curlews and lapwings gathering on the meadow, while in the summer the swallows swoop and dive over the grass, and buzzards soar lazily over the woodland."
One review described the cottage as "enchanting" and "welcoming".
"Views excellent, peaceful and relaxing. Incredible little hideaway with only the songbirds and sheep for company. Beautifully built and situated lodge. Everything needed was supplied by Jill. A small piece of heaven for a weary soul," they said.
From £129 per night, The Barn Cottage, near Hexham, sleeps up to four people and is described as "a lovely romantic base" to explore the countryside in the property's overview.
One review said: "The cottage was nice and clean, nicely equipped and in a lovely, peaceful location. There were nice views from the lane and the footpath behind the property. They were very welcoming and even made me a cake and left me a pint of milk when I arrived. It is a good base to explore Northumberland."
Tarset Tor Bunkhouse in Northumberland National Park offers versatile, eco-friendly, self-catering accommodation from £573 per night.
Set in tranquil woodland, the bunkhouse has unique facilities including a sauna, bird hide and a private BYO woodland bar.
"Had the best weekend in a great location and accommodation. The bunker house was perfect... beds were really comfortable and room spot on," one Tripadvisor reviewer said.
Priced at £120 per night, Moorgair Cottage in Slaley was described as the "cosiest" holiday cottage one reviewer had ever been to.
"Moorgair is the cosiest, cleanest and best-equipped holiday cottage we've been to, and we've been to quite a few over the years," they said, adding that the cottage is on a "quiet country lane, but the local attractions are within easy reach".
