Newcastle's Life Science Centre is shining the spotlight on AI deception in its latest adult Science Speakeasy event.
Themed 'Fake or Fact', the discussion, taking place on May 16, will feature experts deep-diving into the fuzzy lines between AI fakes and reality.
A YouGov poll revealed that 70 per cent of MPs fear AI content could fuel disinformation, affecting the UK's future elections.
Linda Conlon, chief executive of Life said: "Our latest Speakeasy will explore the rapidly evolving landscape of AI and how this technology poses both risks and significant opportunities.
“Throughout history, new approaches and new tools have helped bring about world-changing scientific discovery and innovation. And the reality is that AI is here to stay, making it crucial to raise awareness of the risks and also to develop ways to help people like our visitors to identify what is real and what is not.”
Entry to the event costs £10, with tickets available through the Life website.
