"This creates a delightful unpretentious atmosphere. Attention to detail and catering to any individual requirements is something they pride themselves on. Very well thought-out vegan and vegetarian options.

3. Fountain Cottage Cafe and B&B Bellingham

Jakeskiego reviewed it 2 weeks ago and was impressed with the vegan options.

He said: "I came here with a mate who lives in Bellingham for lunch. I was expecting to find limited vegan options out in the stick but alas, I was proven welcomingly wrong! They had an enormous range of options as well as plant-based milk for the hot drinks, plant-based cheese, plant-based ice and more. Unfortunately, they had ran out of some of the veggies for the Sunday dinner so only charged me the kids price despite making up for it with extra of the veggies they did have.

"The staff were super friendly and helpful, and I'd recommend Fountain Cottage Café to anyone in the area. Very impressive and a credit to Bellingham!"

4. Stalida Greek Taverna , Hexham

Standardclass visited the business last year. He said: "We both thoroughly enjoyed eating here. The vegan options we’d asked for were on a separate menu and each one was more than just the regular item without the meat as you get in some places. They don’t do takeaways which is a shame or we’d be eating out of there more regularly and getting into the upstairs restaurant is a problem for those with mobility issues.
"The waitress was very helpful and advised us against over ordering some items and even substituting elements of each dish where it made sense to avoid having the same thing twice.
"It was great to see a lot of people coming in throughout the midweek evening. Some had clearly been before and enjoyed it enough to return.
"The dish we had with aubergine was delicious, we shared a very generously sized salad and a starter of sliced courgettes beforehand. It all seemed like authentic Greek or Cretan cuisine.
There seemed to be a couple of others celebrating an event and it was clear we were all enjoying a special moment."

5. Cilantro in Hexham

Cilantro is an Indo Latino Tapas Barwhich is a fusion of Indian subcontinental cuisine and Latin American cuisine.

I love that the curries are included in the tapas menu, so you can have a small portion and still have some of the fusion tapas too. The menu is clearly marked with many vegan and vegetarian choices which I really appreciate. We have never had a bad meal here."

6. Corbridge Tandoori

Lucy F said: "They kindly fitted us in at short notice on a Saturday evening and we arrived to a warm welcome. The staff were all very friendly and the food was really good, with lots of options for the vegan in our group. Would definitely return, but will make sure we book next time."
