NEW figures have revealed a decline in call-outs for pest control around Hexham.
Details released by Northumberland County Council via a Freedom of Information request to the Hexham Courant shared data over the last three years.
According to the figures, the total number of domestic visits which excludes commercial premises to address mice and/or rat infestations around Hexham and district areas in the last three years has decreased by almost 50 per cent.
The highest call out period was between 2021 to 2022 where there were 447 visits made, but it was since lowed to 337 (2022-23) and 232 between 2023- 2024.
Despite the decrease, the council have also provided a cost increase of how much they charge for rodent treatment for a domestic property around Hexham and district areas.
In 2021 to 2022, the charge was £55 then it was £55 (2022-23) and now it is £60.
