TWO brothers are hoping to bring some 'sun' to Hexham after opening their first beauty business on Hexham high street.

Paul and Mark Robinson have just opened their tanning salon  ‘Solartan' in Hencotes on Thursday March 28.

The salon will be open on Tuesday to Friday's from 11am to 7pm (9pm on Thursdays) and 11am – 4pm on Saturdays.

The brothers, Paul, 44, from Acomb and Mark ,39, from Corbridge, are the sons of late Hexham Rotarian and businessman Neil Robinson.

Taking their father's reputation by example and using other business experiences they have gained, they decided that opening a tanning salon was a great business opportunity as it was a 'gap' in the market.

The pair are launching the salon from one of their owned commercial properties.

Mark said: "We both have experience in running property businesses, so were able to use our contacts to make the necessary adjustments to cater for the changes required in the shop, including new electrics and upgraded ventilation etc.

"I am a qualified designer as well, so was able to create all our branding and marketing without the usual associated costs.

"This is our first venture into the health and beauty sector, so we did our research and made sure the sunbeds are of the highest quality.

"We have one stand up sunbed in its own private cubicle, and one lay down sunbed in its own luxury room which is designed to be a relaxing and stress relieving experience for the customer.

"Both beds are brand new with built in bluetooth and have the latest technology when it comes to safe tanning, 0.3 EU compliant tanning lamps, which are fully regulated and designed to create a gradual and more lasting tan, without burning the skin.

"Our aim is to reduce over exposure and provide a safer and more sustainable tanning experience, which leaves the customer looking healthy and feeling confident".
