Permission for new EV chargers has been granted at a popular site.

Northumberland County Council has granted permission for eight electric charging points to be installed at The Auction Mart on Wanless Lane, Hexham. Permission was granted on Wednesday, March 13.

There will be four Ultra Rapid single charging posts with CCS and Chademo sockets over four bays which will cater for different vehicle makes and models, and four Ultra Rapid dual charging posts with two CCS sockets over the eight bays which caters for vehicles with CCS requirements.

All charging posts have spring-loaded cable management systems to reduce the weight of the cables and enhance the usability of the chargers.

Cables are 5m in length to increase accessibility, given electric vehicle charging sockets are located in a variety of locations on the vehicles.

The spring loaded cable management system ensures that cables are raised from the ground increasing reach and removing issues such as trip hazards.

Each parking bay measures 2500x5000mm and has a hatched area on each side to give the user more space and a better user experience.

Developers have three years from the permission date to start the work.
