THE fourth Hexham Net Zero Fair will open its doors later this month.
Hexham Town Council is pleased to be working with local partners Queen's Hall Arts Centre, Hexham Library and Hexham Community Partnership on this community event that has seen more than 530 residents attend previously.
Lead organiser, Hexham Town Councillor Ariane Baty, said: ''We are really lucky in Hexham as to the number of community groups and businesses, as well as charities, that are actively working towards making our town a more sustainable and climate-resilient place to live and work in.
"The Hexham Net Zero Fair brings them all together to showcase their good work and inspire residents to think about or join in similar climate-friendly activities. This can be helping improve the Tyne River water quality, planting more wildflowers in our green spaces, fitting home insulation or mending clothes, for example.
"We will have information stalls representing the work of the Environment Agency, Green Bee Crafts, Hexham Space for Nature, Transition Tynedale, Hexham Town Council and many more. There will be free tea and coffee, plant-based biscuits, kids' activities and clothes-mending demonstrations.
"This free information fair, which attracted over 530 people on previous occasions, really has something for everyone in the community.

This year, local artist Steven Pardue will hold free nature journaling sessions with a focus on the process of creating “chapbooks” – which are paper-covered booklets.
Katy Taylor, director of Queen's Hall Arts Centre said: "We are delighted to open our doors to another Hexham Net Zero Fair. The fair represents a crucial step towards fostering a greener and more sustainable community. Providing Queen’s Hall as a host venue demonstrates our commitment to environmental stewardship and we hope the fair will inspire others to learn and take action."
The fourth Hexham Net Zero Fair will take place on Saturday, March 23, from 11am to 1pm in the Queen's Hall and Library and is organised by Hexham Town Council in partnership with Queen's Hall Arts, Hexham Community Partnership and Hexham Library.
