Officers have released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an assault in Northumberland.
At approximately 11.15pm on Friday, November 24, police received a report of a man being assaulted on St Wilfred’s Road in Hexham.
It was reported that a group of males had approached a 59-year-old man who was sitting on a wall outside of a shop.
One of the males then proceeded to punch the man multiple times in the face, which caused him to fall to the ground. The victim was left with injuries to his face.
As part of their ongoing investigation, police have today (Monday, March 11) released an image of a man with whom they would like to speak in connection with the report.
He was in the area at the time of the incident and officers believe he could have valuable information that may assist the ongoing investigation.
The man, or anyone who recognises him, is asked to contact police via the 'Report' page on the Northumbria Police website or by calling 101, quoting reference number NP-20231125-0801.
