PLANS have been submitted to convert several farm buildings into housing at a farm.

An agent from HTL Investments submitted a planning application to Northumberland County Council to develop several agricultural buildings into five homes at Brocksbushes Farm Shop and Tea Room, near Corbridge.

The design and access statement said: "The overall scheme seeks to create a small hamlet of dwellings which includes the restoration of the Grade II Listed Mill and adjacent Cow Shed. Bringing these buildings back into use whilst upgrading them to suit modern living and current standards."

The statement explains that there are four buildings within the site, which the proposal seeks to convert into five homes.

The Mill and Cow Shed, although physically attached, will be converted into two separate four-bed homes.

"The proposal seeks to make limited alterations, seeking to restore and protect the integrity of the listed building," the statement said.

The Barn will be converted into a five-bed home, The Modern Shed into a three-bed home and The Garage and Stables into a three-bed home.

"Overall, the proposal is well designed and to be built to a very high standard of quality. It is proposed as an asset to the area that makes the most of the setting. The council is encouraged to accept this proposal as a positive contribution to the local area," it concluded.
