A HOMEMADE pie business hopes to offer fresh food to the community.
Karley Bungay, 34, officially opened Life of Pie on February 1, which is based out of an address at Broomhill Road, Prudhoe.
She explained standard pies come with a choice of mashed potato, mushy peas or gravy for £2.99. She is offering delivery or collection for orders.
"I'm not going to use wholesalers for fresh produce, I'm going to pick everything by hand and everything's cooked fresh."
"I'm trying to keep it good value," she said. "I'm offering restaurant standard food, we offer free delivery to the elderly and people with disabilities. We do event catering, we're open to requests, and can do pre-orders for large pies."

Karley has already secured weekly orders for a residential home, The Manors in Prudhoe, on a Saturday afternoon.
Local delivery is free during the day on Thursday and Friday, but the business is not open for takeaway until 6pm on Saturday, as Karley is dedicating the daytime to delivering to people in residential care and those who have disabilities free of charge.
Before Karley opened the business, she was a full-time carer.
"I've got a disabled son myself and I've been driving for five months now. Even though I'm not personally disabled myself, it can be difficult to get out of the house to get food. Before I started driving, I would order through Uber Eats if I got caught short with my weekly shop and it's really expensive being housebound.
"It wasn't just the cost of service and delivery fees that frustrated me, but also the lack of real, homecooked food. Convenience food is fine in moderation, but for those who rely on it frequently, it isn't exactly healthy.
"I always resent paying for something that has little nutritional value because I have no other choice. That's another reason I want Life of Pie to cook everything fresh, using real ingredients.
"I was not expecting the response I got," Karley said on the community reaction to her business opening. "People seem really excited about it."
The opening hours are: Thursday 12pm-3pm, Friday 12pm-3pm, 6pm-9pm, Saturday 6pm-9pm, Sunday 12pm-4pm.
