A Tynedale travel shop has won a prestigous award.

Seaside Travel branch in Haltwhistle has won the Best Newcommer 2023 at the Jet 2 Fight or Flight Conference 2023 in Antalya, Turkey last month.

The branch opened in April this year and is the fifth branch for owner Nicola Park.

Nicola also won medium chain of the year for the whole country at the conference.

"Haltwhistle Seaside Travel getting the Jet 2 newcommers award,  I am just blown away by it," Nicola said.

"It was totally unexpected to be honest to get both awards.

"When I look at that shop and what they have achieved, it is just amazing.

"The staff started off as not being travel-trained at all and the amount of bookings they have brought in and fantastic customer service they have been giving to that town is phenomenal.

"They blow my mind every day every day when I work with them.

"They are brilliant girls and wonderful staff."
