NEW PLANS have been drawn up for a resident to have a 'better entry' into his property and the owners are now awaiting approval by Northumberland County Council.

Steena Steward Architect RIBA has designed a replacement front porch and a rear extension to a terraced bungalow on Crofts Way in Corbridge on behalf of its owner Mr James Blackburn.

The property is a single-story dwelling of buff brick dwarf walls, magnolia render, and concrete roof tiles.

The replacement front porch is to replace the current conservatory-style porch which is coming to the end of its life span and will offer a better insulated and practical entry to the dwelling.

The extension to the sitting room to the rear will connect to the surprisingly generous rear garden and the porch will be of buff brick construction with concrete tiled roof will be shifted slightly to the south to allow the front bedroom window to go clear of the porch.

The bathroom will have a new sky-light with a light-well. Internally, the enlarged sitting room has extensive glazing to create a light and airy environment. The scale of the development means that the impact on the original building is minimal and the original building can be identified.
