THOUSANDS were donated to a children's cancer charity raised by local organisations.
Lynne Graham, Newcastle District president of Methodist Women in Britain, decided to donate funds raised by a golf club and a brass band to a cancer charity.
Her chosen charity for her period in office was Children's Cancer North for which there were two recent fundraising events.
A presentation took place on Tuesday, September 26 by Stocksfield Golf Club which donated £2,930 to the charity.
A fundraising concert for the same charity was given by Hexham Brass at Hexham West End Methodist Church, raising a total of £1,387.52 on September 26.
Lynne offered grateful thanks to Stocksfield Golf Club for all its hard work in raising so much for Children’s Cancer North.
