A TYNEDALE motor club has been named one of the best in a prestigious car show.
Hexham & District Motor Club won the ‘Best Club Stand’ award at the Northumberland Classic and Performance Motor Show at Tynedale Rugby Club on Sunday, August 20.
On the day, the club displayed a number of cars owned by club members, who took the time to show their cars and talk to people about the vehicles and what the club is about.
Hexham Motor Club started in the late 1940s as a motorcycle club, it has now moved on to be one of the biggest motor clubs in the north east of England and the club organises a number of rallies during the year and has well over 100 members.
Tommy Henderson, who organises the show stands for the club, said: "It’s nice to get some reward for the hard work of the membership, we had a great variety of cars on display and lots of public interest in the club.
"The members have all given up their free time to make this happen and it’s great to be able to take an award for it. The club will next be displaying at the Bellingham Show on the 26th of August and the Stamfordham Classic and Sports Car Show on the 28th of August. The club welcomes new members all the time and club details can be found on the website which is http://www.hexhammotorclub.co.uk."
