TWO people were taken to hospital after a crash on a Northumberland road.

North East Amulance Service Police and Fire & Rescue were alerted to the collision shortly after 6.53pm on Tuesday July,18,

The collision was on the A68 in Corbridge near the Stagshaw Roundabout and it was shortly reopened after being closed when the patients were transfered to the RVI for further treatement.

A NEAS spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on the A68 in Corbridge at 6.53pm on 18 July.

"We dispatched two ambulance crews and a specialist paramedic, and transported two patients to the RVI for further treatment."

Northumbria Police adds: “Shortly before 7pm yesterday (Tuesday) we received a report of a collision near the Stagshaw Roundabout, Northumberland.

“Emergency services attended the scene. Thankfully nobody suffered any life-threatening injuries.”
