ROLL UP! Roll up! Come and visit the greatest fair in Tynedale.

The Allendale Mayfair is back once again for another year on the weekend of July 21-23.

To celebrate the return of the event, organisers have based the weekend around a circus theme.

Guests can enjoy the weekend by taking part in a strongman and strongwoman competition, circus skills while also listening to live music.

And who could forget about the Allendale Mayfair's famous fancy dress wheelbarrow race, which will be on Sunday, July 23 at 3pm- 4pm.

"We want to start the summer holidays with a bang," Jane Pryde, one of the organisers said,

"This year we are going for a Circus theme, with brilliant music bands, stalls, competitions, walkabout performers and workshops here to entertain the whole family.

"We have a lot going on such as; Allendale Youth Ambition taking over the stage, where the children of Allendale will entertain the crowds with singing and dancing after a children's tea party beginning at 4:30pm on the Friday.

"On Saturday, local talent including Morris dancers, dance troops, kids' yoga and much more to entertain you, including craft workshops, a tug-of-war competition on the green and the Allendale Olympics.

"On Sunday morning we see the return of our Allendale Mini Challenge which has always been a family favourite, the event was last run in 2016.

"This time it is a challenging circular 9 miles over track and moorland run with support from the North Of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team and you can enter by collecting forms from the Allendale Forge Cafe and paying a £5 entrance fee.

"The walk starts from the square at 8am and certificates will be handed out by the Allendale Community Fire Crew at the finish line.

"If all of that wasn't enough for you, we have a wide choice of food vendors, rides, amazing prizes in the raffle, bouncy castles and for the first time we will have the dodgems for the whole weekend this year!
