A POPULAR annual village event returned to its full capacity for the first time since Covid.

A Midsummer's Evening brings live music and late-night shopping to the streets of Corbridge, and this year saw the return of the popular market for the first time in four years.

Organised by Visit Corbridge, it took place in the market square on Thursday, June 22, and previous events have attracted more than 5,000 visitors to the area.

Gayle Foster, chair of Visit Corbridge and owner of Corbridge business Vintage at The Tower, said this year was the first time since Covid the event has relaunched on a larger scale.

Guests can enjoy street food and get involved in live dancing, and this year's entertainment highlights include Hexham Morris dancers and The Cherry Pickers band.

An eco festival was held at St Andrew's Church alongside A Midsummer's Evening.
