A school hopes to urge the community to continue supporting their expansion of their outdoor learning area after event.

Pupils, parents and members of staff from Broomley First School and Pre-School in Stocksfield are celebrating a big turn out to their first 'big plant' in the rainbow orchard.

Speaking about the project, Miss Richardson, a teacher at the school said: "The Project has been supported by Allendale Estates who donated the use of the land and Stocksfield Parish Council helped fund it from a Grant application following our recovery from COVID.

"We would also like to acknowledge the support from AAF International (American Air Filters) who donated trees in celebration of their 100th Centenary.

"Fiona and Ross Hamilton and Jack in our Y4 class are big supporters of all PTA events and we are very grateful.

"Children took part digging holes for native trees in our wild area and fruit trees in the orchard and transporting composts, manure and bark chippings.

"This is an ongoing project and we are always keen to attract new supporters and volunteers to help us in our community journey.

"Our new executive head Mrs Katie Jacobs is committed to supporting the expansion of our outdoor learning areas."
