STUDENTS from a middle school visited a brewery as part of its careers curriculum.

Year 8 students from Bellingham Middle School visited The First and Last Brewery on Tuesday, March 7.

Headteacher Dan Ramshaw said the students learnt about the different aspects of running your own business and how a hobby can turn into a business.

"We were also given an opportunity to link our visit with food studies.

"We developed our understanding of why certain ingredients are used and how they are sourced as well as learning about the brewing and fermentation process, the children were also given the opportunity to carry our sight and aroma sensory testing on samples of products and were involved in taking gravity readings."
