A businessman is thrilled to be named the winner of an international cake design competition.
Graeme Venus, owner of Sticky Sponge in Stocksfield, has won the international edible sculptor of the year award, organised by D’licious Magazine.
The magazine was founded by editor Kelly-Jane and was officially launched in January 2022 and is a celebration of both existing and upcoming talent in the sugar world.
It is 'passionate' about giving artists a platform to share their work and their achievements.
Thrilled with the award which was announced on Wednesday, January 11, Graeme said: "I was so blown away.
"I never thought this was something I would win being up against some of the top sculptors in the world.
"It is so amazing, as this is my first international award and It’s so amazing to be noticed for all the hard work I do and to be part of making people’s special day even more memorable."
Adding to his achievements he was also announced as one of the UK's top 50 wedding cake designers by GoHen last year.
Graeme added:"We are never too busy for anyone who wants to inquire about our services and are still have availability for any events."
