Wark village notes

TODAY, is Women’s World Day of Prayer –an annual event which offers time for reflection.

This year, the service to mark this event takes place in Wark Methodist United Reformed Church at 7pm.

The speaker is the Methodist deacon, the Rev. Anne Taylor. This year’s service has been prepared by women in Egypt and is called Streams in the Desert.

AS THE Broadsheets came through our doors last week, so did an envelope with a letter from St Michael’s church wardens. In it they set out how the local Church of England parish raises its funds and what that money is spent on, and asked people in the parish to make a financial contribution.

The Broadsheet itself sets out the importance of the annual parish meeting, which for Wark will take place at St Michael’s on Tuesday, March 18, at 7pm.

A QUICK reminder of the musical event featuring young musician Shona Mooney and her band The Moss Troopers at Bellingham town hall on, Friday, March 14.

The performance starts at 7.30pm and tickets are available on the door.
