THE last steam train to be built in Britain will be steaming along the Tyne Valley railway line today.
The spectacular Tornado locomotive will be travelling from Newcastle to Carlisle around lunchtime.
Large crowds are expected to gather to see the train thundering through Wylam at 12.20, en route to a stop in Hexham from 12.47 to just after 1pm.
It is then due at Haydon Bridge at 1.10 and Haltwhistle at 1.20.
