Secondhand book fair

HEXHAM is preparing to host its first secondhand book fair in two decades, on Sunday March 30.

Organised on behalf of Hexham Community Partnership, it will boast around 20 booksellers from all over the North-East.

They include Keel Row Books, Anguline Research Archives, Branscombe Books, Intech Books, Paul Cordes Postcards, former local bookseller Penny Pearce and Hexham’s own Bennor Books and Wagtail Press.

Organiser and proprietor of Bennor Books Mark Benjamin said: “The success of Hexham Book Festival shows how much local people are interested in books.

“Many travel to second hand book fairs across the region, so we thought it was time we brought the books to them.”

The fair will take place in the Torch Centre, on Corbridge Road opposite Hexham General Hospital, from 10am to 4pm. There will be an entry fee of £2.

Anyone wishing to attend as a trader should contact Mark on bennorbooks@gmail.com.
