Riding Mill village notes

IF it wasn’t for the fact that our halls are so busy again that I need to look at the diary every day to check availability, I wouldn’t believe that January has been and gone and today is the first day of February.

THE art class reverts to its normal booking of the first Wednesday in the month in the Millennium Hall at 7pm, on February 6. New members are always welcome.

RIDING Mill Women’s Institute will be holding its birthday meeting in the parish hall on Thursday, February 7, at 7.30pm.

The theme will be country and western, there will be a stall and supper, and visitors are also invited. The hostesses for the evening will be Geraldine Bruce, Carol Turnbull and Eva Roddam.

NEXT Sunday, February 10, the Minsteracres Rubato Singers and friends will be performing Mozart’s Coronation Mass in G and Lost for Words in St James’ Church at 3pm.

Tickets, which include light refreshments following the concert in the Millennium Hall, are available in advance from Bobby’s Shop or can be purchased on the day.
