A VACANT fashion shop on Hexham’s Battle Hill is set to come back into vogue – as a hot food takeaway outlet.
An application has been lodged with Northumberland County Council for the change of use of the former Lemon and Lime shop to a takeaway.
The application, submitted by Mojtaba Rezaio of Bensham, Gateshead, indicates the takeaway would be open from 5pm to midnight from Sunday to Friday, and up to 3am on Saturday nights.
A DARK blue Mitsubishi L200 pick-up truck was stolen from Simonburn, near Wark.
At some point over the weekend, the vehicle was taken from the isolated location.
Northumbria Police is asking for anybody who spotted anybody acting suspicious in the area to get in touch.
FIRE crews were called to a home in Hexham to deal with a kitchen fire on Saturday, August 2.
A fire broke out in the home on Maltkiln, off Priestlands Lane, when a pan was left unattended on the hob.
A CARAVAN at the Hexham Racecourse camp site was badly damaged after being pierced by a metal pole.
The incident happened sometime between August 3 and 9 while the caravan was unoccupied.
Police are appealing for information.
