TV historian John Grundy will be in Bywell near Stocksfield on Sunday.

He will be joined by Peter Ryder for the launch of their new DVD, Bywell – the churches of a vanished town.

The launch, which will include a talk, will take place at St. Peter’s Church, from 7pm.

A TOURIST was taken to hospital after a fall during a visit to Corbridge Roman Town on Tuesday afternoon.

The woman, believed to be in her 60s, sustained neck and facial injuries. She was on holiday from Denmark.

Due to her location paramedics had difficulty moving her and the Great North Air Ambulance was called to assist with getting her to the road ambulance so she could be transported to hospital.

MORE than £500 has been raised for Arthritis Research following a charity dinner in Hexham.

Thirty people attended the three-course meal hosted by Cindy Seddon Purkins and Angharad Davies, at the home of Angharad’s parents.

The pair work at Wetherspoon’s in Hexham, as pub manager and kitchen manager respectively.
