News in brief

ALLENDALE Parish Council has supported an application to reduce a tree overlooking the bowling green by a third of its size.

The top of the Chestnut, belonging to a house on Denelands, will be trimmed back if the application under a tree preservation order is accepted by Northumberland County Council’s planning committee.
