SOUTH Bucks netball team maintained their unbeaten record in the English Counties League by the narrowest of margins, beating Cambridgeshire 33-32 at Wycombe Sports Centre on Saturday.

Bucks trailed from the start, going into the first break 12-8 down.

And it got worse before it got better with Bucks finishing the half trailing 20-13.

But once Bucks made some changes in centre court and to their attack, the county side began to claw back the goals.

They had reduced the deficit to just three going into the final quarter and with defence how playing with increasing confidence, Bucks were getting a grip on the game.

And they left it to the final minute to seal victory, the defence intercepting a Cambs attack before whipping the ball down the other end to score the winner.

Coach Chris Gould admitted: "It was a brilliant match to watch, but not if you're the coach. Sachel Major, Barbara Cieslar and Ailsa Grierson were particularly outstanding in defence."
