CONGRATULATIONS to Humshaugh Cricket Club on its success last week in the West Tyne League Knockout Cup.
Humshaugh First XI defeated Medomsley to earn a place in the final against Hexham Leazes.
The final will be played at Tynedale Cricket Club on Sunday, July 13.
Humshaugh residents are all invited to go along and support their local club.
ON Tuesday, July 8, at 8pm, Humshaugh Folk Group will meet in the Crown Inn to give us another night of lively music and song.
Their music is very good, and infectious, you are guaranteed to come away humming a tune.
THE parish council will meet in the village hall supper room at 7.30pm. Members of the public are welcome.
A REMINDER that on Thursday, July 10, at 9.15am it is the leavers’ service at Humshaugh School.
This is an important event for the children who are leaving our school and the last one for the Rev. Canon Michael Thompson too.
Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be served afterwards.
ON Sunday, July 6, Walwick Grange garden will be open from 2pm until 5pm, in aid of The Red Cross.
IF you haven’t done so already, next time you are travelling through our village stop and have a look at the flower bed around Mick Robson’s memorial seat.
It is absolutely wonderful, with an extensive selection of beautiful flowers and foliage.
Not just a feast for the eyes, there are lovely perfumes too.
LAST week, I mentioned the family fun day on Sunday, July 13.
Well, at the weekend I spotted a fine blue wheelbarrow in training with its owner, who shall remain nameless, sporting a very natty pair of shorts.
I hope you are all gearing up for this event, it will be a challenge; but my money is on Herbie.
Raffle tickets and race entry forms are available in our shop and pub.
For more information contact Louise on (01434) 689438.
IN St Peter’s Church on Sunday, July 6, there will be a holy communion service at 9.30pm. All are very welcome.
IF you have information for this column please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone (01434) 689123.
