SPEEDING and nuisance drivers travelling through Cambo and Scots Gap are being targeted as part of a police operation aimed at addressing residents’ concerns.
Villagers identified speeding, parking, anti-social behaviour and rural crime as key priorities.
And Operation Gatsby has been launched in response.
In one day, 16 vehicles were stopped and checked, six prohibition notices issued, one vehicle was taken off the road and two drivers summonsed for vehicle related offences.

THREE watercolour paintings donated by Queen Mary were auctioned off to raise money for a new Darby and Joan club in Hexham.
A site had already been bought, but a further £6,000 was needed to run the club for the elderly.
The auction, opened by Viscountess Allendale, saw the paintings raise over £8 for the fund.
