Core activities at Wheelbirks

It's crunch time at Wheelbirks Parlour at Stocksfield next month, when the popular tourist attraction holds its annual Apple Day.

For well as launching a new range of apple themed ice creams – including toffee apple, apple and honey muesli crunch and apple sorbet – the parlour is also taking part in the Big Draw, a national celebration of drawing.

Those taking part will be able to learn about drawing the Wheelbirks apple orchard, as well as creating large scale paintings of the farm’s Jersey cows.

The parlour has its own Victorian orchard, originally planted in 1868.

Lucinda Richardson, who runs the parlour, said “It’s not just for the children. If you’ve ever said to yourself ‘I can’t draw’ then the first step is just to have a go.”

The event takes place on Saturday, September 29.
