Wylam look to build on winning start

AFTER drubbing Allendale on the opening day of the season, Wylam look to build on their great start when Haltwhistle visit tomorrow.

With the help of Ben Duncan's 8-9, they bowled Allendale all out for just 22 runs and will look to replicate the form against a team who went down by seven wickets to Hexham Leazes in their opener.

Allendale will want to put their nightmare start behind them and head to a Stamfordham buoyant after a fantastic win at Benwell Hill III.

Benwell make the trip to Mitford, while champions Haydon Bridge and hosts Matfen Hall will hope to build on their winning starts.

Leazes will be hoping for the same when they entertain Stocksfield II, while Humshaugh travel to Prudhoe looking for two from two.

In Division Two, Allendale II got their return to the West Tyne League off to a flyer and they entertain fellow new boys Medomsley who also picked up the win on day one.

Defending champions Mitford II make the trip to Wark, while South Northumberland 1864 have a visit of Haltwhistle II to look forward to.

Humshaugh II and Wylam II meet at the former's ground, Stocksfield III entertain Hexham Leazes II and Belsay are scheduled to host a Newcastle III who conceded their opener.

The action spills over to Sunday as Newton are at home to Stocksfield IV.
