Tynedale's batsmen off to flyer

AFTER a thumping start to the 2014 season, Tynedale Cricket Club are hoping the rain keeps off so they can build on their momentum.

With a whopping 303 runs to their name, they destroyed Burnopfield by 143 runs in their first outing of the new campaign.

Their batting line-up will hope to get the chance to build on the runs they accumulated as they visit Alnmouth and Lesbury who also picked up a victory at the weekend.

Meanwhile, Tynedale II resume hostilities with fellow promoted side Greenside II in Division B1.

After an embarrassing defeat at the hands of Shotley Bridge, Ponteland go looking to put things right with a trip to Lanchester on the cards.

Their second string will welcome Lanchester's equivalent to the leisure centre in return.
