Tynedale Ladies target two goals

A TWO goal winning margin will earn Tynedale Ladies the North East Women's Football League crown.

In the league's final game, the girls from the district require victory by two goals or more when they host Kader will see them pip current leaders Lowick United Ladies to the title on the narrowest margins of goals scored throughout the campaign.

The must win game has been moved forward 24 hours and will now go ahead at Kingsley Park, Ryton, at 2.30pm on Saturday, and will be a warm-up for their appearance in the Northumberland FA Women's Cup final with Whitley Bay Women on Wednesday evening.

Meanwhile, Ryton and Crawcrook Albion know that anything less than a victory in Saturday's trip to South Shields will spell the end of their time in the Northern League.

Over in the Wearside League, Prudhoe Town face a double header as they make the long journey to Cleator Moor Celtic on Saturday before hoping for third time lucky in trying to get their home game with Stockton Town played on Monday evening.

The fixture at Kimberly Park will follow Town U18's involvement in the Durham FA Cup final as they battle it out with Sunderland Lambton Street at Hetton at 11am.

In Division One of the Northern Alliance, Hexham play host to Birtley St Josephs, while Ponteland United are at Bedlington Terriers Reserves.
