TWO ARRESTED AFTER TESCO STABBING

A 31-YEAR-OLD man is receiving treatment in hospital after he was stabbed in the leg at Hexham's Tesco supermarket on Bank Holiday Monday.
Police say the attack happened outside the busy store at around 1.50pm and the injured man is understood to have gone inside for assistance.
He was taken to hospital with injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.
A full investigation has now been launched into the incident and detectives have confirmed all those involved are from the North Tyneside area and are believed to be known to each other.
A 61-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and are currently in police custody.
Detective Sergeant Mick Hoggins said: "I'd like to reassure people that two people have been arrested in connection with this assault and the investigation is ongoing.
"It is not thought this was a random assault and those involved are known to each other."
