Tricky test for confident Stocksfield

HAVING defeated Tyne Valley rivals Corbridge on the opening day of the season, Stocksfield Cricket Club go into the weekend full of confidence.

But they have a hard job on their hands as they host Blagdon Park in the Premier Division of the Northumberland Cricket League, a thriller expected at the Tynedale club.

Corbridge, meanwhile, go looking for better fortune than on their return to the higher division and host Tillside tomorrow. Their second team are away to Cramlington II in Division Two.

Meanwhile, a cracker is in store as the Northumberland Women's Cricket League gets under way tonight when Stocksfield host their second string counterparts.

This will be followed by a trip to Gateshead Fell for Stocksfield's Premier side on Sunday, while Corbridge Angels host Penrith.
