Stunning Stocksfield on the rise

AFTER last night's stunning 4-1 win over title chasing Walker Central, Stocksfield look to continue their climb up the Northern Alliance Premier Division table.

The victory moved the Griffins up to seventh spot in the division, and success on Saturday at 10th placed Shankhouse could lift them a place higher depending on the outcome of Carlisle City's home game with Killingworth Station.

Meanwhile, Wallington are looking to build on their impressive form of last week when they make the trip to Ashington Colliers, looking to take advantage of any slip-ups by Stocksfield.

After Ponteland United all but confirmed rivals Heddon's relegation with last night's 2-1 victory, they are looking for a quickfire Tynedale double as they travel to Hexham, who gained a valuable point in last night's 3-3 draw with Bedlington Terriers Reserves.

Meanwhile, Ryton and Crawcrook Albion still harbour hopes of avoiding dropping out of the Northern League and host Whickham on Sunday.
