Stocksfield targeting fourth win

IN-FORM Stocksfield go looking for a fourth league win on the bounce when they host second bottom Percy Main Amateurs on Saturday.

Having shot up to eighth in the table, they could jump another place if they defeat a team they have enjoyed many closely fought tussles with in recent years.

The fight for safety in Division One will take a step up at the weekend, too, as Hexham could put any lingering fears of dropping down to bed should they overcome the challenge of visitors Willington Quay Saints.

A Hexham success would be bad news for second bottom Heddon, but they could boost their chances of survival with victory away to fellow strugglers Bedlington Terriers Reserves.

Meanwhile, Ponteland United aim to maintain their excellent form of late when they make the trip to New Fordley.

Boosted by their 1-0 win over Wolviston, Prudhoe Town make the journey to 15th placed Easington Colliery. They will then host Stockton Town on Wednesday night.

Having been eliminated from the league cup due to a narrow 1-0 defeat on Tuesday evening, Ryton and Crawcrook Albion go searching for revenge against opponents Washington when they meet in the Northern League this weekend.

Tynedale Ladies' push for the North East Women's Football League crown takes them to Easingwold Town on Sunday, while Prudhoe Town Women travel to Lowicjk United Ladies - a team they lost 6-1 to this weekend past.
