Stocksfield extend unbeaten run

STOCKSFIELD stretched their unbeaten run to seven games as they continue to impress.

Just the one goal was needed to earn them three points over Carlisle City, seeing them win six of their last seven outings in the Northern Alliance Premier Division.

They are just one point off sixth placed Wallington who were on the wrong end of a 1-0 scoreline as they went down to Percy Main Amateurs.

Ponteland United's excellent run of form was brought to a halt in Division One as they were well beaten 5-1 at Cramlington Town.

But Hexham picked up a vital three points to boost their chances of surviving the drop, edging an entertaining fixture at New Fordley 3-2.

There was disappointment for Prudhoe Town as they missed out on a place in the Shipowners Charity Cup final, losing 5-1 at home to Asbrooke Belford House.

Ryton and Crawcrook Albion, meanwhile, lost 2-0 at home to Thornaby in Division Two of the Northern League.

Tynedale Ladies' pursuit of the North East Women's League title took a blow as they lost 4-1 at home to main rivals Lowick United Ladies.
