Hexham return to winning ways

AVOIDING a third successive defeat, Hexham picked up three points in their visit of Gosforth Bohemians.
With the 3-1 success, the Tyne Valley team bounced back to winning ways to move them up to eighth in the Northern Alliance Division One table.
In the Premier Division, Wallington collected a point when they visited a much improved Gateshead Rutherford side while Prudhoe Town were held to a 1-1 draw with Wolviston in the Wearside League.
Chopwell were 6-3 winners at West Allotment Celtic A in Alliance Division Two, but Ryton and Crawcrook Albion lost 2-0 at home to Birtley Town in Division Two of the Northern League.

The Miners' Hall at West Wylam was officially re-opened after undergoing extensive renovation.
Built as a cinema with a sloping floor 15 years previously, a ladies' cloakroom had been added and the floor levelled to turn it into a dance hall.
The work cost £500, half of which came from the Northumberland Miners' Association.
