Haltwhistle jump back into contention

HALTWHISTLE Conservatives moved back up to second spot with victory over free scoring Barrasford.

Last year's championship winning side managed to limit their rivals to just the one goal, claiming a 4-1 victory which takes them to within a point of leaders Wylam, whose game with Allendale was postponed.

Elsewhere in Division One, Ryton and Crawcrook Albion cemented fourth spot with a narrow 3-2 triumph over The Falcon Prudhoe.

Bardon Mill will go into their final game with fellow promoted side Prudhoe Social Club full of confidence as they returned from Hexham Hearts with a comfortable 6-1 victory.

Swinburne Arms Stamfordham gave it a real go as they looked for their first win of the season - but fell short as they ended up on the wrong end of a thrilling 7-5 encoutner with Dr Syntax Prudhoe.
