Five star Wylam remain on top

WYLAM remain in the driving seat in the Hexham and District Sunday League as they put five without reply past Allendale.

The 5-0 success saw the frontrunners remain at the top despite second placed Haltwhistle Conservatives also netting five as they defeated Hexham Phoenix 5-3.

The Falcon Prudhoe made the final four of the Divison One KO Cup as they defeated Rose and Crown Bellingham 6-2, while Ryton and Crawcrook Albion progressed to the quarters with a 2-0 win over Prudhoe Town.

Prudhoe Social Club, meanwhile, booked their place in the Division Two KO Cup quarter-finals after beating Phoenix Chopwell 3-1.

In A Division of the Mick Simmons Trophy, the only goal of the game earned Haydon Bridge Anchor a slender victory over Dr Syntax Prudhoe. But it was more straight forward for Bardon Mill as they defeated Warden Boatside 5-0.

In the only game in Division B, Stocksfield were pushed all the way by Barrasford but came away with the 3-2 triumph.
