Cup final for promoted Bardon Mill

BARDON Mill will contest the final of the Division Two KO Cup as they booked their place at the weekend.

A 4-2 victory over Swinburne Arms Stamfordham puts them one game away from lifting the trophy, and they will meet either Prudhoe Social Club or Dr Syntax Prudhoe.

In the Division One equivalent, Wylam will host title rivals Stocksfield in the semi-finals in the coming weeks as they both won their quarters.

Wylam progressed courtesy of a 3-1 victory over Hexham Phoenix, while Stocksfield edged Ryton and Crawcrook Albion 2-1.

In league action, Prudhoe Town were made to work hard for their 2-1 triumph over neighbours The Falcon Prudhoe.

In Division Two, third placed Warden Boatside were held to a 2-2 draw with Hexham Hearts, while the one goal was enough to give Haydon Bridge Anchor victory over Acomb Welfare.

There was a shock in the only game in the Mick Simmons Trophy as Division Two side Phoenix Chopwell thumped Division One's Allendale 8-2.
