County cup final in Wylam's sights

CRAMLINGTON Benedictine stand in the way of Wylam making the Northumberland FA Sunday Minor Cup final.

The leaders of the Hexham and District Sunday League will play host to Benedictine, currently fifth in the Cramlington equivalent, in the semi-finals at Wylam Jubilee on Sunday Morning.

While they are hunting for county cup glory, Stocksfield could close the gap at the top to one point if they manage to overcome the challenge of The Falcon Prudhoe.

Elsewhere, Hexham Phoenix host Prudhoe Town and Ryton and Crawcrook Albion welcome Rose and Crown Bellingham.

A place in the final of the Tommy Jackson Presidents Cup awaits the winner of the final four tie between Allendale and Haltwhistle Conservatives. The winner will meet either Prudhoe Town or Hexham Phoenix who will go head-to-head the week after.

The top two in Division Two will meet for the opportunity to contest the John Pickworth League Cup semi-final, champions Prudhoe Social Club entertaining runners-up Bardon Mill.

Meanwhile, Warden Boatside will be confident of facing Bardon Mill in the semi of the Division Two KO Cup as they host bottom club Swinburne Arms Stamfordham.

In the only game planned in the Mick Simmons Trophy, Dr Syntax Prudhoe play Division Two rivals Phoenix Chopwell.
